The Kidde Smoke Detector with Safety Light, 10-Year Battery Smoke Alarm, model p3010h, uses photoelectric sensor technology to detect visible fire particles (associated with smoldering fires). When smoke or fire is detected, an 85-decibel alarm will sound & illuminate the area, so you & your family can quickly get to safety. The Kidde Smoke Detector is powered by a 10-year lithium battery, which eliminates the need for battery changes or wiring & provides coverage during a power failure. Upon installation to the mounting bracket, the alarm will automatically activate. A red LED indicates that the smoke detector is sensing smoke or fire. A test-hush button allows you to test the battery operations as well as silence nuisance alarms that may occur from cooking or shower steam. The Kidde Smoke Detector with Safety Light will chirp when it's time to replace the battery. Install a smoke detector & carbon monoxide detector on every level of your home and near bedrooms to help keep your family safe from fire & poisonous gas. Smoke alarms with safety lights are especially ideal for hallways. UL Listed with a 10-Year limited manufacturer warranty on the alarm only (not a battery performance claim). Warranty begins when the alarm is powered on. If that date is unknown, it should be assumed that replacement is needed. Meets requirements of UL 217, NFPA72 (chapter 11 2002 edition), NFPA101 (One and two-family dwellings), and Federal Housing Authority (FHA).

Just a few minor problems

The P3010H was the 3rd P3010 unit I acquired for my collection and has the same minor problems mentioned with the P3010B. When I tested this with a tiny spray of Smoke Centurion, it alarmed within 5-10 seconds (The same time as the P3010B), as well as a escape light to help guide you to safety. There's just the 2 minor gripes that were said for the P3010B. the hush feature works, but you have to wait 10-15 seconds after the initial spray, and when the Photoelectric chamber is exposed to direct sunlight, it goes off. All that aside, this would be suitable for a hallway, during a power outage, or older structures that don't support hardwired smoke alarms.

Disappointed...Died Early

One of these Kidde P3010H smoke detectors was installed in the house when we bought it in 2021. Now, in 2025, it's been chirping and blinking, indicating its' "end of life". When removed, the printed label shows the UL listing, and a date of 2018 Aug 30. That doesn't equate to the 10 years the manufacturer claims. Caveat emptor.
