Perky-Pet Squirrel-Be-Gone Max Bird Feeder with Flexports, 4 lb Capacity

This bird feeder is heavy duty, sturdy and pretty. There is no assembly, just fill it and hang it. The birds are eating from it and I see no issue with the design for birds. However this was built to keep the squirrels out. Its spring loaded with a weight differential which closes the bird feeding holes. My other feeders the squirrels climb up and hang off, like acrobats. This one gives the squirrel no satisfaction. Great design I definitely recommend !

This bird feeder is a beauty right out of the box. The almost brass tones makes it look rich and inviting. The metal topper is very sturdy. The little perches fold in for storage so they don't get broken off. You then can fold them out for little bird feed to perch on & enjoy some seed. It hold a whopping 4 pounds of seed. This means you won't need to keep refilling it day after day. The lid pulls away so refilling it is also a breeze. I used a general wild bird seed and it worked excellent. What I really love is that it is squirrel proof. I do enjoy squirrels and they have their own feeders at my home. But this is spring loaded. This means when the squirrel climbs on the little "perches" the feeder holes close up and will not allow access to the food. After a few attempts I noticed the squirrels were no longer interested and went back to their own feeders. This is an attractive design, it is sleek. It is large but doesn't seem bulky or too large. I really LOVE this feeder. I plan to get a few more and gift them to family and friends. This might be my favorite bird feeder of all time!
