I bought this to keep my dog out of my front room when I'm not at home. She's a very good dog, but when people are outside, she has jumped up on the window and I don't want her messing up the blinds. I did not screw into the wall, as I did not want holes in case I had to take it down…so maybe this would change how sturdy the gate feels when I pull on it. It's still very sturdy and I have to remember. It's not a regular size gate so around the middle where the opening is it's gonna have some free play. It didn't take long at all to assemble. Maybe 20 minutes. This is a 5 foot opening. I didn't use one of the pieces so you can go even wider if needed.

This gate was easy to install and adjust for the width we needed. Pay attention to the recommended age limits. It will not hold back the push from a 3 year old or rambunctious walker, but does what we need it to do for our under 2 year old grandkids.
