Ya Win Some, Ya Lose Some

I've been using my Sennheiser CX 300 for TV for a little over 4 years - paying around $35 each for them - till one channel finally died. I kept the spare unused on reserve, but I really wanted an upgrade and thought this IE 4 would be it. I was mistaken. The new unit does have superior high end response, but maybe the over emphasized treble becomes fatiguing after a while. And there's virtually no bass to speak of. El draggo, especially considering the 17 hz. low of the old unit. What's more, the skinny wires tangle easily and seem overly fragile. So now the IE 4 is the spare and I'm still using my CX 300. Just the red ones. I love Sennheiser product and have enjoyed many phones and buds down through the years including the great Momenum True Wireless, but there's little excuse for their name being on this one. And even less justification for the $60 pricetag. The takeaway: if you're willing to go $60, go $75 instead. Your choices and your satisfaction will be much enhanced, maybe even go for the newest CX 300s. For myself, I'm duly chastened with this waste of money and will ensure I do my due diligence and more thoroughly research my next wired buds acquisition.
