Well to be honest I bought this for myself to sleep with my depressed cat who was in the closet after a big move. It was the right size for me to crawl on and him too. And it worked. He wouldn't come out of his little hidey hole until then and then he came out and slept with me on the mattress. I'm not a little woman by no means and I was comfortable enough on this thing so I imagine a baby would be well comfortable on it.
