As the YS-03 SOLIS has been designed to mimic the light intensity of the camera's built-in flash, it is not necessary to manually adjust output. The YS-03 SOLIS is compatible with any camera with a pre-flash and that has a TTL flash exposure function, regardless of make. Simple controls the YS-03 Solis has been designed for any underwater photographer to use and is easy to understand. The only control is the rotary power switch and by simply turning the switch from off to TTL you can take beautiful images. Comes with diffuser as standard. The half-translucent section diffuses and softens the light from the strobe. Using the diffuser gives softer, more evenly exposed images. The diffuser will also help reduce effects of overexposed images or when strong light produces shade/shadow in the image. YS-03 Solis realizes a wide beam angle of 100-degrees x 100-degrees. With the diffuser beam angle will increase to 110-degrees x 110-degress.

    The YS-03 Solis Strobe has a guide number of (ISO 100/m) (land) 20, is powered by 4x AA alkaline batteries 6V or 4x AA Ni-MH 2500mAh batteries 4.8V and provides 230 flashes with alkaline batteries and with Ni-MH 300 flashes. Recycle time (full) is 2.5 seconds with alkaline batteries and with Ni-MH batteries 1.9 seconds. The strobes color temperature is 5600-degrees K and with the diffuser 5250-degrees K. Unit is depth rated to 250' (75m), measures (W x H x D) 2.7" x 4.3" x 5.2" (68mm x 108mm x 129mm), weighs 15.2 oz. (430 g) without batteries while attached to a fixing bolt and approximate buoyancy is positive 0.4 oz. (10 g) with batteries underwater. Auto power off function, sync cord type is fiber-optic cable, and the flash has an over-pressure relief valve. Included with the YS-03 Solis Strobe are a diffuser, diffuser strap, fixing bolt, and tube of silicone grease.
