NETGEAR - Nighthawk AC2600 WiFi Router, 2.6Gbps (R7450)

My previous router only covered half my house. My new Nighthawk router has coverage throughout the whole house including the basement and garage at 75% strength or higher and at least 50% strength outside when working around the house. I love it, no more slow connection speeds or pauses due to no connection.

Best router I've owned. I bought this for half price on a November 2018 Black Friday sale. It was powered on and setup in my apartment on December 2018. Almost 2 years later, it's been running flawlessly under heavy use. Background of setup: Chicago high rise, 100s of neighboring wireless networks, connected to a 1 Gigabit direction connection (the building is brand new and I believe they have fiber optic cables that provide the internet access; for me it's just a simple ethernet cable from the router into the wall - no other setup required), connected to: 3 TVs, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, Nest Thermostat, WeMo Outlet switches, 2-3 laptops (depending on the time of day), iPhone, printer, you get the point... connected wired/wirelessly. Not even a hiccup in the last 21 months. I'm shocked how well this router works. Super stable and fast. ONE THING TO NOTE: I have a very clean setup; no cable modem to deal with. I think this also is one of the reasons performance and overall robustness of my internet access has been flawless with this router. Cable modem to router connections can be finicky and unreliable. Many times I believe it's the cable modem not resolving to the internet and people are quick to blame the router. I believe that is where many people run into trouble with these home networks. Overall, great pick for a router. Handles high speed internet well and it's reliable. I would definitely give this router a buy rating.
