More uses than just powering down computers.

I live in an old house with questionable electrical wiring. With the exception of some lamps, I use multiple APC UPS's to buffer all my electronics from power surges and spikes as well as filter out "power noise". When the batteries go bad, I purchase a new one and take the onld one in for recycling. Easy peasy :-)

I've used APC battery backups for many years. They are worth every penny, I leave my pc on 24/7 and work from home Power blinks don't bother my pc. The first one I bought, 30 years ago, shined. My wife and I were in college and we lost power. The house went dark and she remembered her paper she had been working on. She panicked. I led her to the office and there was the light from the monitor, she saved her paper and shut down the computer.
