I wasn't sure what to expect since this is an inverted wax warmer and then when I opened it I was even a little more concerned because the tray for the wax looks like a very shiny cat food dish. and so I was quite a bit concerned however it works very well. the bulb is in the bottle looking part of the warmer and when it is over the tray the tray itself heats up as the wax does. with the little dish my biggest worry was whether or not I was going to be able to pull the wax out of the dish itself and because the dish heats up with the wax like from the heat bulb it's really quite simple. I currently keep it on a glass surface kind of a cabinet thing I've also put it on my desk that I refinished with glitter and on both of them it's not causing any damage that I can see. and so I'm very very impressed. there is a little bit of light but it's in our living room and so I wasn't concerned about the amount of light coming out. I had a what they call the Edwardian bulb warmer in there and I did really like it because it's right next to my desk and adds a little bit of light this one does not but it's also less risk when I'm doing my crafts etc about dropping something in the wax warmer. the first week I was using it I did find a moth melted in the wax which I think says more about my house than the wax warmer but a quick scoop with a paper towel and moth was gone. I haven't seen any more since then and I run it almost daily. I am hoping to find a couple more inverted ones for the rest of my house.
