[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you're like many and think a refrigerator is a chilled receptacle to keep groceries and beverages cold and that's pretty much the end of it, read on...I'm going to open your eyes to a brand new world that Samsung has introduced me and my family to.with their recently released FOUR DOOR FLEX W/FAMILY HUB refrigerator.
Yes, your groceries will still be cold. Yes, your beverages will still be cold. But there's more to this kitchen appliance than that. So much more in fact.
Beginning with the moment the delivery men arrived and prepared for installation I was impressed. It's a state-of-the-art piece of high tech equipment that not only functions wonderfully, but enhances the appearance of our kitchen magnificently.
To describe the inside in a word, "abundant". In fact, when the team wheeled it in I thought it looked smaller than our old one and was concerned everything wouldn't fit. When we went to put all our items in the new FOUR DOOR, however, I was pleasantly surprised. In fact there was space aplenty, and space left over.
If you've been paying attention so far you aren't wondering how many doors our new Samsung has, but you might not know how many go to what specific function.
Guess what? I can't give you definitive answer. Reason being is there's a "special" section (or door) you could use as a freezer or regular fridge. You make the choice if you'll have three fridge doors and one freezer, or two of each and you make that choice right off the touchscreen that takes up a huge chunk of the front right door.
Oh yeah...forgot to tell you about that. Here's where the real amazing part comes in. The screen (let's call it an overgrown tablet) is 2' high x 1' wide...very easy to see from across the room while enjoying breakfast or lunch. I likened it to an tablet because there's really not many differences between the two. We have already downloaded dozens of apps (my wife's favorite is the Amazon one and here's why...if she's looking at the screen following a recipe *yes, you could do that*, and she doesn't have one of the ingredients she could click the app, order what's needed, and within three hours the doorbell is ringing with the delivery).
Being a musician myself I really appreciate having Pandora (Stevie Ray Vaughn channel) right there at my fingertips while in the kitchen.
Our two sons, one is five the other almost three, love watching YouTube vignettes while mom is cooking or I'm doing whatever it is I do in the kitchen. Speaking of the kitchen, it's a room I previously rarely frequented at home. This amazing appliance, however, is a game changer. We chose to set the home screen to family photos. You can personalize yours and Samsung gives you myriad options for that. Using your finger you could write notes, ideas, reminders, etc. and they're right there for you big, bold, and in living color.
Probably the best feature of all though is the one where you could be at the grocery store wondering if you need eggs for example. Click the Samsung app on your phone and there you will see the entire inside of your refrigerator and its contents.
A close 2nd is mirroring your phone. Whatever you're watching or doing on your phone you could watch on your new Samsung Four Door. The entire internet is at your fingertips with this appliance.
It truly is a game changer. Many thanks to the engineers at Samsung who designed and perfected it. Our family loves it.
