Salomon X Ultra 4 GORE-TEX Hiking Shoes for Men - Magnet/Black/Monument - 13M

I've had these for about 2 weeks now and I am very disappointed! I have had Salomon shoes for the last 20 years and the last 2/3 years the quality seems to have gone down and down. The right shoe started collapsing on the inside arch from day one with the stitched material pinching my foot quite severely, I continued using them and have done about 90 miles hoping they would break in, they have only gotten worse, it almost appears like the material was warped before it was stitched, I'm currently awaiting a response to my warranty claim, previously the customer service has been excellent as these were a warranty replacement for a pair that the waterproofing failed(lack of quality again!).

The shoes themselves aren't hurrendous but, S other reviewers have said, the 3s are much better. I wish companies would resist tinkering with great shoes and, more often that not, making them worse. It's like Facebook. Used to be great. But they keep messing around with it to make it better, but they change things that don't need changing, and just make it worse. These feel plasticky, the fit has changed, and it's not that they're bad - they're just now where near as good as previous versions. I definitely wouldn't recommend white. They look good initially but, the second they get muddy, they just look rubbish from then on and the cross hatched area just looks filthy forevermore.
