I was going to contact Samsung this morning to relay my personal experience with Bixby (which is incredible), but a review might be better. I've read a lot of information about the Note 8, both before and after purchase. After having the phone for two weeks, I'm not sure what the criticisms are all about.
1. The fingerprint sensor is super easy to use. Much easier than having a sensor on the front of the phone, which does not fit the natural way you use a phone. You have to make an entirely unique gesture when the sensor is on the front. The back placement works with a natural way of holding the phone.
2. Bixby. Who doesn't love Bixby...seriously? I've used Google Assistant and Cortana. Bixby is far superior both in capability and ease of use. Friends who have iPhones prefer Bixby to Siri. I've read that people are complaining about her, and that Samsung is responding by changing her. An update has been sent out that allows users to disable the "Bixby Button," which is unfortunate because the button is brilliant (iPhone friends are jealous). I also read that Samsung is considering doing away with Bixby entirely based on the feedback. PLEASE DO NOT ELIMINATE BIXBY. I'm not sure who her critics are or what they expect her to do, but she is a gift. I own a small business, have a full-time job and maintain a household on my own. Bixby keeps me organized, and she makes my life easier. She does what I ask (even tasks that require several steps), and she is amazingly responsive to voice commands. That's all I ask of a device, and she is flawless. My only "Bixby Wish" is that Samsung develop a desktop app so I can use her everywhere. :-)
3. The design changes to the footprint are sexy...plain and simple.
4. Sound quality is great for a phone. Display quality is phenomenal.
Samsung did an exceptional job with the Note 8 and Bixby. Hands down.
