It has to be held a specific way in order for it to fully work. But I guess that could be for any cup with a straw. Daughter got the hang of it, drinks quicker than what she would a regular cup. And she just loves the flowers.

2 year old friendly, easy to clean

Easy to clean. Good design. My 2 year (and 1 month) old can unscrew the top (takes 2 small turns), drink from the big 1-inch round spout (it's not a sippy spout), and screw it back on quickly. The built-in handle allowed him to carry it around proudly. For a younger 2yo, this was the best product I found at Target. The other brands seemed too difficult to clean, or the drinking mechanism did not allow for free flow of water.
