This is a FANTASTIC tent and is a great value for entry into the world of RTT camping. It's a third of the price of a hard shell tent, and still cheaper than more well known soft shells but it certainly delivers! Installation is fairly easy, and you do have the option of choosing your orientation so your entry is customized. Setup is about 5 minutes, which includes removal/storage of the PVC cover, unfolding of the tent via attached ladder, and optional attachment of metal rods for windows and doors. It's only 2 minutes if you omit the rods as you can easily enter and exit without them installed. I installed this on a truck rack, mounted on a 5x8 utility trailer so it's not as tall to enter if installed on a truck or SUV. The ladder only has an option for full extension but I drilled a few more holes so I could adjust the height of the ladder as needed. I enter via the attached ladder, and my 60 pound dog enters from the other end via a telescoping ladder. There is plenty of room for a single dog and I know it would be comfortable up there with my wife too. The mattress is plenty thick and I slept like a baby in a sleeping bag very comfortably. It does block out light very well so be prepared for a very dark sleeping experience when the flaps are all shut and the rain fly attached. I highly recommend this tent and am very glad that I didn't spend double, triple, or even more and I have zero regrets after my first usage last weekend near the Grand Canyon. My comments for improvement would only be minor: a) The PVC cover could use an additional strap to keep the top ladder cover part from flapping better, b) The ladder could have more adjustment holes already drilled and maybe adjustable feet for more precise placement. Breakdown and storage is easy too. Remove the rods (if installed), fold the tent in half with the ladder, zip in the cover. 5 minutes max. Amazing. You won't regret this purchase, if there are any left. Video review on Amazon sealed the deal for me and I'm glad I purchased it. It's shipped direct from California and you need to schedule your signed delivery once it's received in your local Pilot/Maersk office but even that was easy, and the packaging was adequate and protective as well.
