A Must Buy Gift for New Parents

This book is beautifu, just unforgettably touching and BEAUTIFUL. I cried the first time I read it, standing in a book store in the early 1990's, and over 30 years later - I still cry. The dynamic of the mother/child relationship and how it grows and evolves is so beautifully illustrated. The soft and beautiful refrain that is repeated throughout the book "I'll love you forever. I'll like you for always. As long as you're living, my baby you'll be" feels different at every age and stage of life. I can hear a grandmother read it and find a completely different meaning than hearing a father take on the narrator role. I bought this as a gift for a new baby coming to the family and I always say "if you already have it, pass it to another parent who doesn't yet." Robert Munsch is a gift and he will be truly treasured and missed.

Love this book, First ordered this book back in 1989. Read it to my daughter every night and as she learned to read at the early age of 2 1/2We read it together. Continued buying this same book for each of my Grandbabies And reading to each one. 2008, 2010. 2014 and now 2025. It has become our family book. And I still have my daughter's book.

just what I needed right now to help me out with the difficult time I am having its hard trying to take care of your parents when they get older and you are disabled but it helps remind me of everything she does/ did for me and helps me try harder to take better care of her the best i can but I still need help and I am reaching out for resources but it reminds me of how we need to take care of each other and I leave the book out where I can see it to try to help me figure it out and try to have some patience because I love my family forever no matter what even if it is very too hard we will find a way through this together
