This was a great choice for my 3 year old grandson who is on the spectrum. He uses his hands to hear the different instruments or play different notes on the keyboard, in addition to walking on it to se what sounds he gets. There are great pics of different intruments that create their sound when pushed. It can be set for individual notes or create your own song. It can also play some pre-set children's songs. There is volume control (thank you!). The plastic bright yellow "control panel" in the corner reacts with various lights and is the speaker. My grandson finds that very interesting! overall, I have nothing negative to say. It folds up for storage and is made of a material that easily wipes clean if necessary. This has been a great toy and learning tool, and so far no problems. We are very happy with it and it is probably best for ages 2-5 years old, but you could start a little younger. This is just my guess. This seems to be a great product that was thoughtfully created, and it's colorful and fun for kids.
