Rightline Gear Sport 2 Car Top Carrier, 100S20 Fits select: 1997-2019 HONDA CR-V, 2001-2019 FORD ESCAPE

We first used this for a 1000-mile drive, carrying valuable (to us) family memorabilia home. During the trip it was subjected to steady rainfall for several hours and to several brief, hard downpours. We had covered its contents with a layer of plastic under the top, but apparently that wasn't necessary. There was no sign of moisture inside after the trip. We particularly appreciated that the soft structure made it possible to fill and tie down without waste space, the carrier fitting the contents instead of having to make the contents fit a strange-shaped carrier. We look forward to using this for camping equipment when we travel with family.

Drove across country with this strapped to my Hyundai Elantra using the door frame hooks. Did not need the mat that went underneath or the through the car straps. When we reached our destination after driving through dust storms and a lot of rain, everything inside was dry and undamaged (though we tried to avoid the rain and unloaded it as soon as we reached our destination). We had a hard time finding a place to attach the hooks that seemed secure and though we checked the straps at every stop, we only had to adjust them twice. I think next time I will try the through the car straps because the hooks let water drip into the car at the attachment points when it rained (I would rather have the water dripping on my arm than in the carrier though). My experience with this product was very satisfactory.
