Applying topical meds for any cat is easier when they are asleep, so this is not a worry for me on this product. Getting the med to the base of hair at skin is def harder with long-haired cats. I also must watch that other cats dont try to lick it off their friends. Wear gloves with application as the chemical can absorb thru owners skin tol. I love this product and recommend it for the best way to clear the home of fleas. It kills larvae and any fleas that come in contact with treated cat. We live in the south, so fleas are year-long. We also do not want worms spread by our cats grooming fleas off themselves and swallowing fleas that can spread tapeworm etc. In my opinion, it stops the flea cycle quickly. We did have a vet say that some fleas are developing a tolerance to product..but.my experience is that when the cat or home is extra infested, the frontline lasts about 2 weeks and cat needs re-application. Once fleas cycle is broken, it works monthly no worries.

A little on the expensive side but covers more types of pests than other collars/medicines. My cat has sensitive skin so thankfully it's better than flea collars that cause irritation. Fair warning: it should be applied properly in order to work. Even as an indoor cat, treatment is necessary but she's been pest free.
