Absolute monster of a cpu for its price. It is power hungry and does need a very good cooler. Pretty much any 240mm or bigger aio ought to do it. My $50 thermalright warframe keeps it under 70°f during the most intensive gaming I've used it for. Usually closer to 55°f in games though. Make sure to update your bios before use, as should be done with all 13th and 14th gen intel cpus. Probably the best bang for buck CPU in 2026 since it often goes for $200 or less. I got it for $150 brand new. Ought to last me at least 5 or 6 years, maybe up to 10 before I really need an upgrade. Great performance in every game provided you have an even somewhat decent gpu. Really just a great product overall, minus the potential degradation issue, which everyone should be aware of before buying and installing.

Top tier price/performance but needs tinkering

Crazy performance for the price tag but this CPU is not plug and play. 14th gen intel cards are not stable out of the box but can be with a bit of tinkering. Here is what worked for me: First and foremost, update your BIOS to the newest version before installing the CPU or atleast ensure your current BIOS version includes 0x12b microcode. Once it is installed with a solid CPU cooler (atleast a $35 Thermalright Peerless Assasin) and a $7 Thermalright LGA1700-BCF plate, you can alleviate any temp issues. Lastly I HIGHLY recommend undervolting this CPU and limiting wattage, it will run better while also avoiding any degredation that plagues the 14th gen intel chips.
