Built as a durable plastic table set for girls or boys ages 2 and up the chairs were designed to hold children up to 50lbs. Even though it has a good size table for your child to eat or play on, the chairs being able to store under the table, makes this good for small spaces. The chairs still have a good size back support for your little one, even though they can store under the table. This was a concern for me upon purchase, but there is nothing to worry about.
