Horseware Waterproof 1000D Ballistic Nylon Horse Fly Sheets, Navy/Burgu

I bought this blanket because it had everything I wanted. But I knew right away it was too much blanket for my purposes when it arrived and the package was really heavy. The blanket itself weighs 15pounds (medium weight, 250g)! The 1680 denier is what makes it that heavy, and stiff. Perfect for an outdoor horse that is tough on their blankets, but not for mine that gets daily turnout and lives inside the rest of the winter. Tacking up/blanket changes would be a constant challenge. I went with an Amigo Bravo 1200d that has all the same features but weighs 10lbs less.

This blanket is an extremely solid blanket and I doubt that your horse could rip it. However it is very heavy (in reference it weighs more than our heavy blankets and it's a sheet) and as a professional groom, It is a pain to put on and it is a pain to fold in store properly . If you have a horse that lives out full time that needs a blanket that is basically indestructible. This is the blanket for them, but if you have a horse that needs constant blanket changes, I would not suggest this. I wanted to leave this review since you cannot find this information anywhere else and I think it's super important when choosing a blanket because this blanket has an incredible purpose, but it is not for Show horses in my opinion.
