Black & Decker Lithium Ion Halogen Rechargeable

Black & Decker Lithium Ion Halogen Rechargeable Spotlight My Review I purchased this light spot light for Christmas 2013. I was amazed after charging it for only one hour , its so easy to operate , there's a red and green led by the rear and if it turns red you need a charge soon but it still gives you another hour of light, you just charge it with your car cigarette lighter in your car or truck, and when the little led turns green your good to go. and in the home or office , the wall charger that also comes with it is great and fast charges it , so you get 2 chargers with it, one for the car and one for the home wall plug. and the most interesting feature is the button in the rear that gives you even a more bright light when you push the button. you will see a mile away with this spot light . I will purchase a 2nd one for a spare and never need batteries again.

This Product is NOT Black and Decker

First of all...after 6 months use of the product, it has failed. It worked ok but had its quirk-- like just going out after shining a couple of minutes. Very irritating since it was fully charged. It would shine great when it worked but it kept going out. When it did quit, it was too late to return it to WalMart due to their 90 day return policy so I called the company. That is when I was enlightened to the fact that this particular light is made by BaccusGlobal who has an agreement to put the Black and Decker name on their product---they also have an agreement with Stanley. So this light is a cheap spin-off of a good company. So, I have to pay to have it mailed in to them for them to check it and then if they determine it is a defect, they will send a replacement. Not sure what the postage will be and not sure if they will decide it is defective. Really put out with the whole thing since it was a pretty big leap to spend $30 + tax on a flash light. The problem with the unit is not the bulb--filament is still in tack and unit charges normally according to the indicator on back of unit. I was using it last night and it made a loud pop at the back of the unit and shut off. That's when I checked the bulb--it looked fine. So I really don't want to throw good money after bad. Feel like cutting my losses and researching to find a good light that is not a cheesy imitation. Maybe I just got a bad one. Haven't seen too many reviews on this one way or the other. One positive I think and 2 or 3 like mine....negative. Hope this review helps someone make a happy decision on whether to purchase this item.

not so good

Got this light on a camping trip and ended up taking it back. Then got a Bushnell t1000L and we are very happy with the Bushnell. This light uses a bulb not a LED. The reflector behind the bulb is poorly designed and casts a ragged very uneven light. Brightness is listed as 900 + lumens but when we tested it to a Bushnell 1000 lumens it was no where near the same light output. Not a good light in my opinion.
