Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Hot Spot and Itch Relief Medicated Shampoo for Dogs and Cats, 16 oz

I received the Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Hot Spot and Itch Relief Medicated Shampoo for Dogs and Cats in the sixteen ounce size. My dog was having some itching and I thought I would try this. My dog was having mainly dry skin and I liked that this product has oatmeal in it to help with scratching and dry skin. I do have a dog and it is interesting to know this is also useful on cats. Sometime I even use this product only on my dogs paws when he has gotten into some mud for spot treatment. I like that the scent is very light smelling and clean smelling. I feel like it is very light scent and smells a little like citrus, but it hardly has any smell at all. I don’t like when there are a lot of harsh smelling stuff in it and this one fits the bill. It also has aloe in it to moisturize and I like that to also help with itchy skin. This product is also Paraben, dye and soap free. I also like that it lathers very nice and well. Easy to get suds going with this one to get a clean dog! It does help with the itchy and dry flaky skin.

This review is for the 16 ounce Veterinary Formula Hot Spot and Itch Relief Medicated Shampoo. I used it on my 12-pound Poodle/French Bulldog mix for his severe flea allergy. If he gets one flea, he scratches himself endlessly. He has been very miserable. He chews at his back so much that the hair falls off and he has a bald spot. I was super excited for him when I was given this product to try. I tried it out immediately when it arrived. I lathered him up well, let it sit for 10 minutes, and made sure I rinsed it all out. The shampoo had a very light and pleasant smell, and lathered very well. It also rinsed out very quickly. Once he was dry, I noticed the scratching and chewing immediately stopped! I was so happy for him. Finally, some relief from the torture he endured. The shampoo is lightly scented, so I was also happy about that. It did not dry out his hair; in fact, his hair seemed softer and shinier then before. I have only had to bathe him once a week to eliminate his symptoms, even though it is recommended to bathe him twice a week. I cannot wait to see if his hair starts growing back! Another thing I like about this product is that it does not have a long list of ingredients, and most of the ingredients I recognize and feel comfortable about. It is also paraben dye and soap free, and veterinary recommended. These are all qualities you would expect from more expensive products lines. The fact that it is reasonably priced is wonderful! If your dog is suffering like mine was, please do not hesitate to give this shampoo a try.
