Better constructed than original but ...
Basket is not identical to original. It has hard sliding covers instead of the easily removable silverware stands. We removed them and used the one of the old stands which we prefer. The unit seems to be well made with durable heavy plastic. I think it is better than the original in that respect. Our old basket developed holes in the bottom from sharp end silverware not placed in the stands. Hopefully that won't happen with this one since we now use the stands and only place blunt-end utensils in the open baskets. This basket should last longer than the original.
