Vitamin D3 is absorbed more efficiently than D2 because it's the active form, so it tends to have a better effect. Each capsule in this bottle contains 2000 IU, which is a high and effective dose. I was previously told my serum vitamin D levels were low, so for someone like me, a higher-dose supplement like this is very helpful. Since vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, taking it in softgel form makes sense, the oil-based capsule helps improve absorption when taken with meals. I think the design of this supplement is very thoughtful. Even though the dosage is high, the capsule itself is quite small and easy to swallow. It also doesn't have the strong, fishy smell that some other brands do. I'm very satisfied with it overall and hope it helps support my bone health over time.
