10-399- a classic fixed blade
What right do I have to write this review? Well, I am a house carpenter with 35 years experience cutting stuff up with utility knives. This one has the right mix of sturdiness, ease of replacing blades, and hand feel. It's not for non-tool belt wearing people because of the fixed blade- you must be careful with the thing and not stab yourself- don't keep it in your hand along with 4 cedar shingles as you shove it out a window to your work mate reaching blindly for it, for s/he will be stabbed and remind everyone of the stabbing many times at lunch. Put it in your tool belt sleeve, which you can line with a scrap of pex tube to protect things. But yes, this is the one to buy.

Best tool Stanley makes!!!! Hopefully they don't discontinue for good. I do floors and need a good fixed blade with quick change blade. I was a big fan of the Stanley swivel lock carpet knife which for some reason was discontinued? Strange. Second best tool they make. Love both keep making them!!!!!!
