Appearance is exactly what I anticipated. Dimensions exactly to description. Assembly was difficult as the pieces were not labeled and therefore could not follow instructions. It took 2 people about 3 hours to assembly due to this. SEE PHOTO's: On the steps to nail the cardboard as the back panel, it was guessing game on where to pound the nails to make contact with frame. I have many nail "incorrections" that are visible on the front side. Also the shoe slots need to be inserted appropriately or the slots move when shoes are removed.

I purchased this based on positive reviews from others. I suggest you not completely trust all of those reviews. First, the look is Ok for the price. The materials and assembly not so much. I'm not new to assembling this type of furniture. I've done it several times over the last few years. The instructions were about as good as others I've encountered with one significant exception. The parts we're not labeled. You have to look carefully at each piece and match it up to the picture in the instructions. The two pieces that the hooks attach to are very similar to two other pieces, and if you confuse them, you'll need to disassemble some steps to fix it. The other disappointing step in the assembly process is putting the pressed cardboard backing onto the back of the assembled product. Attaching that piece of cheaply made cardboard to the back of the unit is a science project, And if you're slightly off where you put the nail or the upholstery tack, yes, you have to use both, you will tear through the backing without knowing it and you'll have to repair the damage you've done. I was off a fraction of an inch a couple of times, and I had to make repairs. When I say a fraction of an inch, it's exactly that. A micro fraction of an inch. If you enjoy measuring a perfect grid across the back of the unit and placing the nails and upholstery tacks precisely in the right spot, then you'll enjoy this. Finally, you should know that the entire unit is made of particle board, comes with cheaply manufactured hooks, and the dowels are plastic. I suggest spending a little more getting something nicer. Had I known this, I would have.
