Why took this long to come up with a kids pole with no eyelets is beyond me. The reel is smooth, although the rod is a little stiff but given the length and purpose it's to be expected.

This rod is ingenious. The line comes directly out of the rod so there are no exposed eyelets or line running up the rod for the line to get caught on. I bought it for my 6yo daughter as a Christmas present and she loves how easy it is to use.
