This thing is amazing. I am purchasing the hand tools as well. it slices thru dirt (wet clay!!!) and roots like butter. That also means it is verrrrry sharp, so be careful!!! Am using it to clear brambles/thickets from a new yard that really needs tilling by commercial product. It's going slowly because it's manual, but this spade is fabulous.

Bought this for the woman to make it easier on her to get rid of the broadleaf that had infested the garden. It worked great for that purpose but I've also been using it for planting trees on the perimeter of the property where it makes the job of getting through undergrowth type roots much quicker than a regular shovel. It's also extremely durable, and that's coming from someone who won't buy wood handled shovels because I tend to break/wear them quickly. Excellent product!

Everyone should have a Root Slayer!
Reading the reviews and description, I thought this was the tool to help cut back out-of-control periwinkle beds. This tool does what the description says it will do. The ease with which the root slayer cut through the beds was simply amazing and made an onerous job kind of fun! I plan to order its baby sister for next year's gardening. Wish I knew about this years ago.
