The blade centers on top of the roots and slices

I chose this Root Slayer Spade because of the curve on the tip. It was the best choice for me. The curved blade is beveled to an edge. When I put my body weight on the spade the blade centers on top of the roots and slices through. It does not move to the side like a spud bar or a pointed spade. And it doesn't bounce off like an axe or a hoe. This is perfect for the deep holes for the roses I'm setting out. This was a huge timesaver! I still use the spud bar for removing the rocks. But to slice roots away this is my new best friend.
