works very well for fruit and house flies

This attracts and holds so many fruit flies and house flies. It is meant to hang, but since I don't have a place to hang it near where the fruit flies are hanging out, I pull off the strip to open the cardboard case, and leave the TrapStik in the opened cardboard, on it's side. As the top sides get filled with flies, I rotate it and put it back. Be sure to touch only the plastic ends--the column is VERY sticky.
