Plant Good Seed Purple Passionflower / Maypop Seeds - 20 count, Perennial Cold Hardy Vine, Green Fruits

The seeds not only arrived quickly but I received waaay more than what I was expecting. I believe they sent me an extra 20 seeds between two packages, so like 60 total. This is my second time attempting to germinate maypop, once from a different seed company. I learned that maypop seeds have a very low germination rate if not properly prepped! On my first attempt, I only got 2 successful plants out of 22 seeds, which is pretty standard. This time around, I broke up my seeds into several different batches to see which prep method worked best. One group was soaked in only water for a few days to soften the seed coat. One group was left to soak in milk, which than fermented in a couple days. The 3rd group was left to soak in undiluted lemon juice, and and 4th group was placed in a Mango "naked" brand smoothie. After the first soak, aach seed was then scarified further by removing a tiny portion of the seed coat, at the tip of the seed, using a nail clipper. I then let all 4 groups sit in fresh tap water again for another day, before "planting". They are then placed directly on top of moist potting soil in a mini greenhouse with lots of light and humidity, along with being placed on a heating mat. So far, it's only been a few days and seedlings are already popping out on a good portion of them. The ones that soaked in milk and citric acid first seem to be the quickest to germinate, but time will tell how viable they are. Lots of articles online with different recommendations.
