FEEDING WEANING PUPS Puppies start to nibble on solid foods at 3 - 4 weeks of age. Keep moistened Purina Puppy Chow (three parts kibble to one part water) available to puppies at all times until fully weaned (6 - 8 weeks of age). FEEDING GROWING PUPS After weaning, Purina Puppy Chow can be fed moistened or dry at the same time every day - very young puppies three times a day, older puppies twice a day. Use the feeding guidelines shown here, but remember individual needs can vary. Feed to maintain ideal body condition as shown. Slight appetite changes and occasional digestive upsets are normal in puppies. If upsets become severe or linger longer than a day or two, contact your veterinarian. FEEDING FOR REPRODUCTION Purina Puppy Chow provides the extra nutrition needed by reproducing females in stages of gestation and lactation. Food consumption may vary during gestation, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female’s good body condition. Food intake may double or even quadruple during lactation. SWITCHING TO PURINA PUPPY CHOW When switching to Purina Puppy Chow from another food, please allow 7 - 10 days for the transition. Gradually add more Purina Puppy Chow and less of the previous food to your pet’s dish each day until the changeover is complete. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily. For your pet’s health, see your veterinarian regularly.
Feeding Instructions
PUPPY FEEDING INSTRUCTIONS: Start puppies on moistened Purina ONE as early as they will nibble at solid foods, generally 3 - 4 weeks of age. Allow your puppy to eat at will until fully weaned (6 - 8 weeks). After weaning, Purina ONE can be fed moistened or dry. If water is added, use no more than one part warm (not hot) liquid to four parts Purina ONE, changing frequently to ensure freshness. For best results, develop a regular feeding schedule such as three small meals a day for younger puppies. Gradually reduce to one feeding in the morning and one in the evening as your puppy ages. The routine should not vary. Use the feeding guidelines shown here but remember individual needs can vary. Feed to maintain ideal body condition.THE IMPORTANCE OF IDEAL BODY CONDITION: Nestlé Purina Research indicates that avoiding overfeeding of puppies may help their development. Maintaining ideal body condition is key to encouraging proper growth in all puppies, especially large breeds. The indicated amounts are only a guideline. If your puppy becomes overweight, a reduction of his daily food intake may be appropriate. You may wish to consult your veterinarian about a weight control program.RECOMMENDED FOR GROWTH: This product is for growth of large breed puppies and maintenance of adult dogs ̶ not for reproducing or lactating females. If you have a pregnant or nursing female, we recommend Purina ONE Plus Healthy Puppy Formula.MAKING THE SWITCH TO PURINA ONE: Although you’ll be anxious to see the difference Purina ONE can make in your puppy, please allow 7 - 10 days to ease the transition from your puppy’s current food. I have a grown dog that just can't put on any wieght. Someone said feed Boyfran Puppy Chow. So I bought a bag and he has shown so much improvement with just the one bag it's awesome. I also feed him canned pumpkin, some reg dog food. Along with Walmarts $1 loaf bread, sweet potatoes either cooked fresh or canned Yams. But the Puppy Chow has real real helped him so much!❤️❤️❤️
