Gradually add more Beneful Healthy Weight and less of the previous food to your dog's dish each day until the changeover is complete. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets. Feeding Adult Dogs: The recommended feeding amounts are based on using a standard 8 oz./250mL measuring cup which contains approximately 97g of Purina Beneful Healthy Weight. Most adult dogs can be fed once daily. However, when high activity or other factors create a higher feed intake, twice-a-day feeding is recommended. Dogs should be maintained in ideal body condition and not be allowed to become overweight. The food intake required to maintain ideal body condition will vary, depending on age, activity and environment. Consequently, the amount of food required for each dog will vary and should be adjusted accordingly. Store in a cool, dry place.

I had a vacation home in Western Maryland. Mind you, I had 4 German Shepherds. One Saturday night, around 10pm, I was watching TV, my husband was in the loft upstairs (bedroom), sleeping, as I hear all my dogs barking. The house was a Cedar- Chalet with a lot of windows and 2 Cathedral Ceilings. I open the Vertical Blinds after turning on the outside light and what do I see? A huge Black Bear bounces off of one of the doghouses and looked right in the window where I stood. Well, seems he was more scared than I was when he saw me, ha,ha,ha....I saw a red tag in his ear (State Bear), my husband woke up and took one of his guns and fired a shot in the air and the bear left. He came back, We found out that Alex did not eat his dinner all the way and the bowl was besides his doghouse. Alex wanted to jump on the bear with his chain on and we told him from the porch to get in the dog house. He listened real good ! The Black Bear went around Alex's dog house and laid down. pulled the bowl closer to him and munched happily PURINA DOG CHOW and when he was done he walked off contend an no one saw him again. My husband died, so I am with my very good female watchdog. Katja,. I switched her dog food to PURINA from another brand and she loves it. She eats BENEFUL. Her coat is shiny and she is active. This product helped my dogs loose weight. I combined a cup of Purina Beneful Weight with real chicken and half a can of Walmart brand no salt green beans (per my Vet's recommendation of substituting green beans for some of the food) and my dogs lost 7 pounds that she needed. Not to mention, it Walmart pricing is excellent! They did not over priced this product it is very affordable to buy for the purpose.
