I bought this fan to replace my 25 year old fan that had finally stopped working.... I love the lights on it and the remote that comes with it is a nice touch This fan IA definitely a upgrade from my prior one. As for the installation I had to have someone come out at I'm not familiar at all with that part, but it took him an hour to remove the old one, put this one together as well as install it I'm very pleased and I definitely will be buying more since I still have 3 more rooms that need new fans too
