Tripp Lite's 8-port Console KVM Switch w/19" LCD is the optimal solution for controlling multiple computers from one keyboard, mouse and monitor. This single unit combines an 8 port KVM switch, keyboard, 19" LCD monitor and touchpad; all in a mere 1U of rack space. Stores neatly in the rack, pulls out when needed. Control up to 504 computers from this single console by daisy-chaining additional B022-U16 16 port KVM switches. Easily switch ports using the On-Console push buttons, On Screen Display (OSD) or keyboard hot key commands. Includes eight, six foot Combo cable kits, which allow connection to either PS/2 or USB only servers...no adapters needed. Also features an extra HD15 and (2) PS/2 ports on the rear of the unit, which allows for connection of a Tripp Lite B051-000 IP Remote Access Unit or an external console. Two USB ports are provided on the front of the unit: One for attachment of a separate USB mouse, and one for attachment of USB peripherals, such as a flash drive, external hard drive, etc.

Meets/Exceeds all expectations
I have been building server racks for about three years now and my company has always ordered another brand of KVM (Advocent.) After experiencing many issues with the other brand, I was asked to find a new KVM for use in the future. I've had this one for about 1 month now and it has been better in every way. It comes as one piece so there is no assembly required. It responds very quickly when cycling through the servers and cycling is as easy as pressing one button. The display is big and clear and the unit locks into the rack with two spring loaded latches, which is much nicer than the thumbscrews I'm used to that never work right. The only problem I have, and this might just be me, is that the cycle controls feel backward. I use the thing every day and still find myself cycling the wrong way constantly (This is a very minor inconvenience though because, as I said before, cycling is very easy anyway.) All in all, it has been very easy to work with so far and I have recommended this product for future use.

quick and easy from unboxed to operational
Replaced a setup with KVM (which failed), shelf, keyboard, mouse and monitor. Saved space. Easy to install, instructions stated devices would have to be shut down for it to work, but they worked while plugging into live servers. Appears very high quality and well thought out.
