Prince Edward Island Dreams Red Door Inn, Book 1, (Paperback)

From the first page I was drawn in. I couldn't wait to find out more about Marie Carrington, and what had her so down. The Red Door Inn takes you on a journey to Prince Edward Island. When Jack meets Marie he is immediately drawn to her. He finally gets her to speak to him, and he can tell she is exactly what he needs. She has an eye for design and he needs help restoring his house to become the great B & B it's meant to be. Johnson made me love the characters right away, flaws and all. I found that I could relate to a lot of what they were going through. I also loved many of the secondary characters, and had fun learning more about them along the way. Marie Carrington knows she must get away. With not much money left in her pocket she is left discouraged and doesn't know what to do next. When she meets Jack he offers her what seems like the perfect answer. But what kind of strings would come with such an arrangement? Just thinking about it can cause her to have an anxiety attack, and she is having them far too often these days. Will Prince Edward Island bring her the peace she so desperately needs? Meeting Seth was not in her plans. How is she supposed to work so closely with a man her age? And not to mention, he is living under the same roof. Jack assures her that Seth is more bark than bite, but Marie knows better than to trust a man any where near her age. Seth Sloane will do anything to protect his uncle Jack. When Jack brings Marie to the B & B, Seth worries she is out to cause his uncle harm. Then and there Seth determines he will do everything in his power to make sure nothing happens to his uncle. Seth has been hurt in the past by trusting the wrong person, and doesn't want the uncle he loves to suffer the same betrayal. Marie is great to have around the house, but Seth doesn't understand why she needs to spend so much money on antiques for the Red Door Inn. Surely designing a first class Bed & Breakfast isn't that complicated. Can he figure out what Marie is hiding before someone gets hurt? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Contemporary Romance. This was a great story of hope and learning to trust again. The characters all had things from their past that shadowed their current situations, and needed to learn that not everyone is out to get the most they can from you. I had so much fun watching Seth and Marie and their reactions to each other. I can't wait until the next book in the series comes out! Not only will we get to see more of Seth and Marie, but we will get to hear Caden's story. I received a copy of this book from Revell and the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
