Happy winter grilling on Cape Cod

Wow. Why did I weight so long. Exceeded expectations. I am glad I went for the Primo Oval XL400 over the Green Egg. Our first venture was a 22 pound Turkey. It was gorgeous and was even better as left overs with all the juice and flavors. The oval was the right choice for us. I now have a large gas grill, a large griddle and now the Primo added to the fleet. Have done a pork butt for six hours. This Covid winter in Cape Cod its going to be the Primo as our first go to cooking choice. On another note, Thank You to the young lady in the Baton Rouge office who walked me through my order and accessory choices. She was very helpful and was able to price match on the accessories I found on a special sale elsewhere online. All in a good purchase experience!

I am disappointed with Primo's after-sale customer service

If doing this again, I would buy a less expensive Kamado brand, and spend the difference on one of BBQ Guy's mid-level gas grills (in the $1000-1200 price point) so that I could have both a Kamado and a decent Gasser on my deck. First Primo makes a lovely Kamado grill, and I think the oval shape is very helpful. Especially when I cook salmon. However, I am sour on my decision due to their warranty support service. It makes me feel like they are changing the rules after I made my purchase. I have high expectations since I paid a significant premium for Primo over other less expensive options like Kamado Joe. I don't mind paying for parts, I have plenty of money, but I feel slimmed. Specifically, on 4/10/2019, I contacted Primo because one of the casters wheel lock broke. No big deal, these things break. However, the Primo warranty people (Asia, Molly, and then Sheer) said this was not covered under warranty. Further, Molly (at 5pm - their quitting time) tells me she just called me, missed me, and I would have to call through the 800# if I wanted to explore this further. This seemed not true - I was right next to my phone, and it did not ring. Finally, I asked them to help me understand what clause in the warranty specified my casters where not covered. However they would not. I reminded them that the warranty has 4 buckets so it should be easy for them to cut and paste the clause to me. Warranty language: "All Primo ceramic parts are warranted, to the original purchaser, for a Limited Lifetime and are backed by a twenty (20) year guarantee. All metal parts (excluding cast-iron parts) are warranted for five (5) years and all cast-iron parts are warranted for one (1) year. The thermometer and felt gaskets are warranted for thirty (30) days. The warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of any parts which, under normal use, Primo determines, after reasonable examination, to be defective."
