Designed with both the professional contractor and home DIYer in mind, you can quickly repair holes and cracks in your drywall without needing to pre-apply a joint compound. This DIY tape is self-adhesive and repositionable, so you can achieve invisible joints and perfectly smooth walls. One roll contains 180 feet of self-adhesive fiberglass drywall joint tape and is perfect for your next wall repair needs.

. Taping Drywall Joints. 1. Clean surface of dust and dirt. Position tape over seam and cut to exact length. 2. When seaming drywall joints, use only quick setting joint compound. For best results, maintain room temperature between 50°-70°F (10°-21°C). 3. Apply joint compound, working it through the mesh. Let dry to manufacturer's instructions and sand smooth. . 4. Apply a second, thinner coat wider than the first feathering edges outward. Let dry and sand smooth. Repairing Cracks. 1. Slightly open up crack to a width of 1/8? and fill with ready mix or any setting compound. Let compound dry to manufacturer's instructions. 2. Clean and sand surface. Apply joint tape to the repair area; overlapping the end of each crack by 1? or more. 3. Spread compound down the crack, working it through the mesh. Let dry and sand smooth. 4. For a finished appearance, apply a second, thinner coat wider than the first. Let dry and smooth. Patching Holes. 1. Clean and sand surface. 2. Cut two pieces of joint tape 2? longer than the hole dimensions. Apply tape over the hole in a criss-cross manner so entire opening is covered by both layers. 3. Depress joint tape 1/4? into hole and fill with ready mix or any setting compound. Let dry to manufacturer's instructions and sand smooth. 4. For a finished appearance, apply a second, thinner coat wider than the first. Let dry and sand smooth. Note: To avoid shadowing, be sure the first coat of compound is completely cured before applying second.

I've never used this before. I've always used the paper type tape. Well after buying this one I don't think I'll ever buy the paper kind again. This one is much easier to handle and work with. It's sticky, so it sticks exactly where you need it to. I just liked it way better.
