Tezula Plants Debris Free Tree Fern Fiber, sustainably harvested in New Zealand by Fernwood. An amazing product which we started using during the pink bark shortage and we were completely blown away by the results. Absolutely fantastic for aroids, orchids and other tropical plants as it is both water retentive but also allows a huge amount of air to circulate around the roots. This Tree Fern fiber has become our go to medium for seedlings and germinating seeds that do not want a large amount of moisture around them while germinating. It can be used on its own or incorporated into a mix best suited for your growing conditions. The biggest complaint we had when we started using it was all the fibrous chunky tree fern which made repotting so much harder than it needed to be, especially when repotting into pots 6 inches or smaller. We loved this product so much and started to use so much of it we decided to get a commercial grade sifting machine to remove all the debris. You may still find one or two strands that wiggle their way through the grate, but it is less than 1% of what you would get before. our bags are ready to be used. It is also sustainably harvested which was of utmost importance to us while sourcing.
