Premier Pet Replacement Carbon Filters for Dog and Cat Fountains, Pack of 4

I did not receive all my filters. I ordered a 12 count and I only recieved 8 filters. Now I need get a hold of Walmart to get the other 4 count I paid for.

We use the Premier Pet cat fountain and boy our cats love that thing, but it isn't fun to clean. So if you use the filters and keep on top of them (check them every other day to see if they have a musty smell) and put in fresh water every other day---these filters last a very long time. I'd say maybe 2-3 weeks before you need to put in a new one. I did remove the filter that goes around the motor area (which is used to catch hair and things that might damage the motor). I admit, after I removed the filter near the motor (it's a different filter, so not this one on the review), these carbon filters last longer. I think the motor filter was collecting bacteria and making the water gross after only a week. But I took a chance and now only use these carbon filters to help keep the water fresh. If you remove the motor filter you might risk the motor getting hair in it or something, so remove at your own risk. You can buy motor replacements if you need but my first motor has been going strong so far. I did buy a back-up motor just in case and I buy the carbon filters to have on hand. We have 4 cats, so they all use the fountain. We also keep bowl of water in another spot, too, so they have options. Cat professionals recommend having water in a few locations if you can.
