PowerSmart 1.5" 120V 15-Amp Electric Wood Chipper Shredder, with Collection Box

So far so good. I've only used it 3x since it arrived and I am fairly impressed. Package was intact and the components were easily identified. Set up was quite straightforward and easily done with minimal skills required. The motor is pretty strong. At first, I was disappointed that there is an interlock which prevents you from allowing the chips to fall to the floor but clean up was a LOT easier with the container in place. So, that's not a negative. The plug wire is very short (but that's not so bad either). I will say that the machine runs loud. It would be a good idea to wear ear protection. While we are on the subject of protection, glasses whether regular or safety are a good idea. There is a lot of dust made from relatively dry wood. While the ads say it will take 1.75" diameter branches, I'd say it's more like 1 to 1.25 (perhaps a bit higher). I did not push it. Sometimes branches twist in annoying knots, you must keep a pair of lopers at the ready. Also, I found that it was happier chewing up longer branches rather than little guys up to say 5" long. It will do them but the operation is not as smooth. It is important to remember that this is a chipper. Using it as a shredder will frustrate you. One of the main issues for which I have no answers is the availability of additional blades and plate. Cleanup was relatively easy but since it does create dust, you'll never get it as clean as new. I dislike the length of the screw knob which is used to open the chipper. I counted over 30 revolutions before it was able to be displayed. I found that the fact that it had 4 legs made it more steady that those which have bent legs. My chipper came at a decent discount and in my opinion it was worth the money. I probably would balk at the list price. Bottom line: would I buy it again? YES Would I recommend it to my friends? YES with the caveat that parts are available for purchase.

I found this powerful little shreddar outperforming my expectations. I shredded green branches, dead branches, branches up to 1 1/2" with ease. I also shredded 10' okra stalks that were dead and the machine didnt clog or have any problems with the soft and moist stalks. I must give this great machine 5 stars for performance and how light and easy to move it is. I highly recommend. 💯
