This stove is simple to light and use. The burner for this stove is not as heavy duty as the Swedish army stove it's modeled on (Trangia), so some care is required to keep it from being crushed. I'm accustomed to having to prime a white gas stove, and using this stove eliminates that priming step. Care is required when lighting it so that you don't burn your hand; a butane igniter can work well for this, although a cigarette lighter works if care is taken. An alcohol stove like this takes a while to heat a meal; longer than a white gas or isobutane canister stove. I measured the total weight at 5 oz, so it weighs less than most white gas stoves but probably more than many isobutane stoves.
