How Sweet It Is(n't)!
Lily's does cost a little more than it's competitors, but for a sugar-free product it can't be beat! Lily's 55% cacao chocolate baking bar is not too sweet and can be eaten as a snack. Each bar can easily be broken into 14gram pieces. Lily's baking bars also melt easily and have the same texture as other name brand chocolates. The beautiful thing about Lily's is that the sugar-free substance, stevia, is produced from the stevia plant. It is a natural form of sugar and not a man-made substance derived in a test tube. It is nowhere near as harsh and carcinogenic to the liver as are all the other man-made sugar substitutes. Gastroenterologists highly recommend stevia over all other man-made sugar substitutes; but as with anything else consumed by the human body - stevia should be consumed in moderation. As an added bonus, Lily's baking bars, since they do not have actual processed sugars, are much lower in calories and carbohydrates than chocolates that do use them.
