Highly Recommend / Great Quality and Craftmanship
I purchased the G1S on Sam's Club's website after looking at several other home gyms on other sites. The G1S is made by Body Solid, so I went onto their website and was very impressed by the quality of the equipment they had to offer, they make commercial work out equipment, as well as home gyms and accessories. The gym arrived in several boxes on a pallet via ups freight about 10 days after ordering. (the driver had a pallet jack and was able to wheel it right into my garage) Everything was packed very well and the quality of the parts was impressive, mostly high quality steel, the only plastic I can think of are the caps that snap into the holes at the ends of the steel square tubes that make up the frame. The seat, backrest and tubular cushions for your legs are very good quality. The instructions were very clear and everything fit together nice and tight. It took about 8 hours to assemble but was very much worth the effort, it was actually kind of fun. The fasteners are separated in small bags and labeled for each step. Allen wrenches are provided, however, I would recommend having a rubber mallet for the end caps, a socket set for the nuts and bolts and a tape measure for the cables, as there are 4 cables of different lengths and you will need to install them in the correct order. Just take your time and use a little common sense and it will all come together just fine. When I completed the assembly there were no parts left over. HINT: You will need to fine adjust the cable tension in 1 of 3 ways as described in the instructions. There is a double pulley with 4 bolt holes on each end, I installed the bolts in the 2nd hole from the end on both ends of the pulley and the tension was perfect. (you will understand what I mean when you get there) The machine is awesome and I can tell it will last a lifetime. I LOVE IT !!! One more thing, one of the tubular leg cushions was slightly deformed (nothing big) and I was a little tired and installed the weight #'s that label the steel weight plates backwards (160lbs to 10lbs instead of the other way around) Duh!!! I called Body Solid customer service and they sent new ones with no questions asked. Great customer service!!!
