Almost Great

Have not had any problems with it burning out as others have reported. Mine heats very well and despite it's excellent airflow it is the most quit heater of this type that I have owned. The osilliation is very smooth and quiet as well. It also has a small footprint and a overall quality look and feel to it. Now for the bad: The thermostat is terrible! It is fairly accurate at reaching the set temp however once it does and shuts off the digital temp readout continues to climb untill it is reading about 10° above the actual temp in the room at which pointthe temp on the readout slowly decreases utill it is once again correct. This allows the room temp to become too cool. I was going to return it but like it otherwise and decided to keep it and just set the thermostat a couple of degrees higher. Not something one on expect to have to do on a new product that wasn't cheep

Noisy

The heater function of this space heater does in fact work. However, I agree with the reviewer Pitt286 that it sounds as though it has loose parts almost like a loose fan connection. The sound is annoying enough that you can not ignore it.

Not sure it's suitable for the long-term

I'm not sure exactly when I bought this, but if I had to guess, I would say a year and a half ago to two years ago. I only use this when it's cold out (for me, that's between November and March, roughly) and so it remains off and in storage for most of the year. When I do use it, it's for a couple of hours at a time throughout the day. The reason I decided to write this review today is because, despite working fine until now, it started making bizarre growling noises after turning it on. I did minimal research for this particular model, but was surprised to find this sound indicates the motor or the blades inside need replaced! After a few minutes of running, the growling noise went away so I suspect it could be either a) nothing or b) a sign it will fail eventually, if not soon. It is also worth mentioning that I am only able to use the 'low' heat setting because using 'high' after about 5 minutes or so will flip the breaker it is tied to, depending on where it's plugged in. Not sure if that is a product deficiency or mere pitfall of living in an apartment. My last, and least, concern is it takes a while for it to heat up a small room and I have to position it close to feel like I'm getting any benefit from it. At any rate, I wouldn't necessarily recommend to anyone for it's potential to fail, but I wouldn't not either because it still worked good for 1.5-2 years and that's about the time people replace these things anyway, right?
