Rocky Worksmart Composite Toe Internal Met Guard Waterproof Work Boot

Decent boot overall but still has flaws. Internal foot bed is soft and comfortable for walking during a full workday, but is too soft if you have to lift anything repeatedly. Foot bed collapses immediately once you lift something and you can feel how rough the soul is in the balls and heel of your feet. Does not recover quickly with repeated lifting. Composite protective toe seems to be sized appropriately for wide and narrow widths, unlike with Rocky boots of past where the protective toe was sized for narrow widths only. External rubber toe coating is a nice touch as you don't need to add your own to protect against abrasions, however it has a rib that will snag on catwalk stairs and anything rough by your feet, I ended up sanding mine down as it snagged on virtually everything in my workplace. The soul seems rugged and durable, I work on catwalk for up to 10 hours a day, there have been no cuts, tears or torn chunks in the soul as has happened with many other boots from Rocky & other brands. No kick off lug is very annoying and should be brought back on all pull on boots. This boot features a small piece of material that covers the seem of the internal liner by the heal area. Only time will tell if this feature actually works to prevent the liner from tearing at the seem from daily wear but at least somebody was thinking about how to prevent premature failure of a boot from the liner tearing. It would seem better if the whole seem was reinforced or not have the seem at the heel to begin with. Break in only took one work week instead of two as experienced in the past with other boot models. Maybe Rocky will actually improve upon this boot and keep it in their lineup more than one year. It is annoying to try and use a warranty on a discontinued boot.

The boots are comfortable within the first few uses. That is rare for internal met-guard boots. The toe cover is a nice addition. Hopeful that these boots hold up to industry abuse.
