It's been particularly damp in the basement this year. It's unfinished with a 7' ceiling and pretty much bare except a corner that has misc. junk in it. We used DamoRid, which is an excellent product, but we needed a cheaper and more permanent way to handle the musty, damp and general yuck factor. This definitely fit the bill. Don't hesitate purchasing this one, it's a keeper!!

Don't worry about the pencils

I like the unit very much, someone had wrote that they were afraid a child would shove a pencil down through the top ....not true a pencil will not fit in the holes....they need to quit looking at the pictures and judging. Very good dehumidifier for the money, I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Greatest product ever!!

I bought the unit because I have asthma or a cold, the constant humid environment, I live in cause me to have trouble breathing. I plugged it in and within 3 hours, the humidity has dropped inside my camper trailer 588 square feet. The humidity dropped from 75% Down to 45% Over the past 18 hours. It makes it so easy to breathe and it clears the air. It's especially useful in small rooms or in kitchens closed environments or somewhere where there will be a lot of humidity like a laundry room. Just be sure to read the instructions and don't put it directly next to your dryer. Don't use extension cord. Well, they are instructions.
