very easy to add on to your cage it just clips right into the sides! this is one of the only cages that's actually a appropriate size for guinea pigs and I love that there's an option to put on a top. I had them in their own room but since moving I had to keep them in a smaller cage until I could afford to get this one (I have cats!) it's a bit overpriced in my opinion... everything is now... but it was on sale finally and I am very very happy!!!
