steiner predator af 10x42

I purchased these a few weeks ago to replace some old Steiner's I had for years that got stolen. Wow these new ones are amazing. I showed them to the people I work with and they were blown away by the clarity and the 3d effects. I would recommend them to everyone

I'm sold

Ok, I'm sold. I purchased the Steiner Model 2444 Predator 10x42 Binoculars, the fit and finish is just what I expected from Steiner. These binos are very comfortable to hold very comfortable to look through, easy to configure for your (or rather my) eyes and easy to carry at less than two pounds. I love the way the strap attaches to the binos and how easy it is to take off. I have a chest rig that I like to carry my binos on and it was no problem converting it to work with these. How awesome Steiner, I didn't have to replace my trusty chest rig. I did a side by side comparison of these and the binos I have been using. Looking through my Bushnell 10x42 then looking through these, I didn't see much difference; I was looking at a small herd of antelope at about 850 yards. But when I put one eye in the Bushnells and one eye in the Steiners, it became very clear which binos were superior. Let there be no doubt the Steiner Predator 10x42 was clearer, brighter and I was able to see more detail on the antelope. The Steiner Predator 10x42 have become my primary binos and the Bushnells have been relegated to my backup binos.

Nice medium size binoculars with unique coatings

I purchased the 8X30 Predator AF with the CAT coatings, it was the advertised CAT coatings that made me want these. Along with the individual focus feature of the eyepieces...no center focus wheel for these binoculars I get so tired of constantly rotating that center focus on other binoculars. As for these, I took them out and dialed in the individual diopters on my land. Here is what I found: 1) these things are lightweight and feel good in your hands, 2) they also feel durable...rugged feeling for binoculars, 3) the coatings are kinda wild looking, the coatings are real green...very unique looking glass, 4) the view thru these is unique I found that using these over around 500 to 600 yards of open pasture these are no better or worse than another pair of excellent condition 8X30 binoculars. HOWEVER, when I switched over to scanning the thick, heavy woods on my property where I hunt deer, these 8X30 Predator AF's with CAT coatings are basically a totally different type of binocular. Using them to view thickly wooded terrain, I can pick stuff out more easily deep in the forest than with "regular" 8X30s with regular coatings. I assume it has to be the advertised CAT coatings. I cant wait to try these out come spring and summer when the leaves are out on the trees and there is heavy green on my farm.
